A – Alpha and Omega

As this is the first post in the A – Z Blogging Challenge for April, there is no better way to begin than looking at the beginning and end of the alphabet – specifically in this case the Greek alphabet. Alpha to Omega equals A to Z.

In the last book of the Bible; Revelation, Jesus is described in this way:
“I am the Alpha and Omega”, says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Rev 1:8 (ESV).

In other words, everything that we believe starts and ends with him. This person who is God himself and who is described as eternal – was, is and is to come. Anything that is not about him, quite honestly, cannot be described as truly Christian.

The A – Z posts may seem to have random subjects (albeit focussed on Theology) but most importantly I trust that everything I write will be centred upon him.

  1. You are off to a good start for the Challenge – taking the first step is often the hardest! I will be back to see more, thanks for posting.
