Monday Evening Hymn

Jesus is King, and I will extol him was written just under 30 years ago by Wendy Churchill. It expresses the hope that we as Christians have, and its object and focus, that of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have such hope because of what he has done; the tremendous sacrifice he made in our place. As well as that, he is now in heaven interceding for us.

That fact can give us great confidence in the ups and downs of life – this one hope is steadfast and certain. And his daily grace is all we need.

Jesus is king and I will extol Him
Give Him the glory, and honour His name
He reigns on high, enthroned in the heavens
Word of the Father, exalted for us

We have a hope that is steadfast and certain
Gone through the curtain and touching the throne
We have a Priest who is there interceding
Pouring His grace on our lives day by day
